Location: The Hub Pacific Quay
Date: Every Thursday from the 16th of May at 6 to 9 pm for six weeks
Hybrid learning with in-person taught workshops and pre-recorded content. Scheduled studio time to utilise the Dolby Atmos studio.

This short course introduces Dolby Atmos, a ground-breaking technology revolutionising audio experiences with immersive, three-dimensional sound. The course will delve into mixing techniques for both film and music, presenting you with essential skills for the rapidly evolving audio industry. This course will prepare you with foundational knowledge to apply specialist audio engineering and creative techniques to your developing practice. Each student will have dedicated studio time to work on their project with guided help from a tutor.
This course is tailored for individuals already acquainted with the fundamentals of audio production. It is best suited for professionals seeking to upskill in immersive audio utilising the latest sound technology. A foundational understanding of audio mixing and a familiarity with Pro Tools is advantageous. The curriculum will delve into Dolby Atmos concepts, current industry practice, and optimised workflows for professional environments.
This course aims to:
- Familiarise students with the principles and techniques of Dolby Atmos for film and music production.
- Provide a practical, hands-on experience in using Dolby Atmos for audio mixing.
- Nurture an understanding of the broader implications and potential of Dolby Atmos within the wider audio industry.
The course is split into five weeks, with in-person lectures and workshops and various recorded video content per week available in the virtual learning environment.
