Course Description

Online on Canvas VLE (GSA's Virtual Learning Environment), with weekly Zoom calls.

This short course offers an entry-level introduction to engage with audio production for various AV formats.

You will learn multiple approaches for audio production including recording, editing, sound design for picture, and basic synthesis techniques.

  • Using digital audio workstations for recording, editing and sound designing.
  • Understanding the fundamentals of how analogue and digital audio functions
  • Apply appropriate skills required for real-world tasks.

Course Outcomes

Each module will allow participants to create:

  • A soundscape of a specific place, through sample libraries or self-recorded content.
  • Sound design piece for a short visual sequence.
  • A visual sequence that requires mixing and balancing in terms of volume and frequency content.
